lee fields? sounds like you had a fuckin classic night man. I gotta get out to some of these shows. I saw m.f. doom a few years back and swore it would be my last live show due to the atmosphere. that very well may be my last HIP HOP show cause it’s just a complete unenjoyable headache but it looks like you had a blast at this place. definitely gonna hit some soul shows…..on an unrelated note- “fly dude” for $6 from the ever elusive eggis beardicus. check you out saturday…..peace

sharon gets my vote for sweatiest hug of all time. i saw some video cameras so there has to be something coming out of it. i’m thrilled for the whole daptone camp. it was a great win for them. they deserve it.

I saw them, a few years ago now, here at a tiny club in Richmond, VA. The 100 folks, at best, were a sweaty funky mess when it was all over. It’s still rated in the top five of shows I’ve ever seen. Simply blew me the hell away and really kick started my current obsession with SOUL/FUNK music. Thanks for the great review. Only hope someone recorded it as well!
