If you are into this blog and the music that goes along with it, and you’re on Twitter, you most likely follow Talib Kweli. Between ?uestlove and Kweli, there are some good tweets going on. Not just any tweets, people, Talib has close to 20K, which makes for interesting reading. When not exchanging Father’s Day pleasantries with Bun B or getting challenged by followers: “@RealTalibKweli if U as brooklyn as U say you’d do a show in my backyard. I know greenpoint aint that far.”, or his latest endeavor into DJing, Talib Kweli makes music. Good music. You know the kind that makes your head nod and your body move. His collaboration with Mos Def in Black Star was an instant classic. I can drop “Definition” (and I did this weekend) and people still get hyped up. He’s “famous for his collaborations with artists as diverse as Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, Norah Jones and many more, Kweli has had a career filled with success and innovation. To many, it comes as no surprise that both Jay-Z and 50 Cent, at the height of their stardom, both counted Kweli among their favorite rappers.” Let’s expand on the many more: Jay Electronica, Pete Rock, Royce Da 5’9″, Dialated Peoples, etc. You guys know the deal, Talib Kweli is Hip Hop. Summer Stage presents him LIVE, for FREE. That’s right, absolutely free in Red Hook Park, Brooklyn. Here’s the details:
