KAT Records are at it again with another series of remixes, this time from from Antipodean DJ and Producer Frank Booker. Booker has laid his signature sound to a few tracks, most notably Fela’s “Egbi Mi O”, King Sunny Ade’s “Syncro System” and a third cut and paste track called “People Must Jam”. For all of you Afro Beat fams, these reworkings are amazing. The Sunny and Fela tracks have been housed up a bit and are real dance floor fillers. The Fela track had Ginger Baker on percussion which most definitely has been enhanced, and Sunny Ade’s ’83 classic has a massive groove throughout. “People Must Jam” (named after a Sydney based Disco Party) is Uncle Jam and “A Roller Skating Jam Called Saturdays” illegitimate son that for sure will have the people out of their seats. This will be exclusively available on Record Store Day April 20th. Check them out below:
