Just a short post this morning as I am off to DJ before the Bad Brains, Bouncing Souls and tons of other bands at the Paul Green School of Rock Festival here in Asbury Park. It should be a good time. The original Bad Brains line up featuring HR. This gig is definitely special to me, I’m a huge Bad Brains fan!
Here’s a photo of Stinky Steve doing some yoga and Transcendental Meditation before setting up at the spot on Saturday. I got yelled at for digging too early. I did manage to get some great records, the guy is always on point. See y’all tomorrow.
Flea Market Funk 
Now that’s what I’m talking about. The Bad Brains were and always will be the truth! I’ll have to dig out my not-so good bootleg VHS of the ‘Brains rockin’ it back in ’87…
yeah i’ll have a full report coming this week. i have a ton of pics and a few videos. this is what dr. know said about my sets: “you play the real shit.” coming from a guy who i have respected since high school, it meant a lot. he was grooving to cymande with me at the after party and loving every minute of it. meeting him and HR were the highlights of my day (besides DJing the festival and being on stage for the show). more to come….
and i’d like to see that vhs tape.
i live in pa. so i won’t be cutting in on your record territory but where is it the stinkster sets up?
he hits the flea market circuit. his main one is columbus on sundays, but mostly he waits and sets up late. he can often be found herding cds or books, buying them up and trying to unload them. he was trying to sell some raer (not really) grateful dead, nirvana, and sublime cds among a bunch of other crap for $148 (that’s right, $148) dollars. guy is a trip, but always comes through with the goods.
