Devil Dick aka Tommy Southard has been a supporter of all music, especially gritty Funk and Soul for his whole life. Introduced to me by an ex (who he used to make Soul cassettes for), when he finally showed up at the Lanes with a cross section of “just a few records I have lying around”, I was blown away. I believe there was a copy of “Baby Don’t You Cry” by Third Guitar in there among some other solid gold stuff. Devil has blessed us with some great sets since his first time behind the 1’s and 2’s, including a flying fan in one set! Always on the lookout for some good vinyl (I once saw him at the spot carrying about 100 lps and running to his car on a hot summer day), he never disappoints. This current set is a definite keeper. So sit back, turn down the sound on the World Cup, and groove with the Devil from the last Asbury Park 45 Sessions. Keep Diggin’!
