Today’s heat comes courtesy of “the hottest sounds around”, we’re speaking of the Names You Can Trust label out of Brooklyn. The crew over at NYC Trust has been delivering quality music from Columbia, Brazil, Jamaica, Chile, and the Caribbean through their vinyl and digital releases. Output from Greenwood Rhythm Coalition, Tyron Evans, Aillacara 2743, Frente Cumbiero and others show they have their feet firmly planted on the map as a label that releases truly unique music with one message: the beat. The latest release from Brazil’s LascaMão follows the same pattern. “Rufar Dos Tamborins” is the eight piece percussion ensemble’s international debut on the label. Anchored by the great Brazilian drummer Robertinho Silva, this two sides of heat does not disappoint. Packed with rhythms to fill the dance floor the music is a combination of the old and new Afro-Brazilian drum sounds. Custom made for people to move their feet, this record introduces you to the rich history of the drum in Brazil in two short sides. Experience something new and different and come back to the very core of what we call music today. That’s why we trust these guys at the label, they never disappoint. Pressed in small quantities, this release also includes a Special Edition of 100 pressed on blue vinyl. Look for more quality future releases from NYC Trust and their extended musical family.
