The Yorkshire Film & Television Orchestra Feat. Martin Connor – Somebody Stole My Thunder

Hard Work No PayATA Records has a treat for you. It’s a free track from The Yorkshire Film & Television Orchestra. The brainchild of ATA founders Neil Innes & Pete Williams and multi-instrumentalist/arranger Steve Parry. Parry did the horn arangements on “Hawkshaw Philly” from the Funk, Soul & Afro Rarities: An introduction To ATA Records LP. All three of them have a shared love for big band arrangements, so look out for a full length from this outfit to come in 2016. This cover of Georgie Fame’s “Somebody Stole My Thunder” features the talented, power vocals of Martin Connor, and the backing track including a 10 piece horn section from The Yorkshire Film & Television Orchestra. This free track from ATA’s Hard Work No Pay Vol. 1 series is smashing to say the least. Right on par with big band style funky covers of “Crosstown Traffic”, “Sunshine of Your Love”, and others, “Somebody Stole My Thunder” is a Mack truck full of funky stuff running right through your ear holes and down the highway. Catch it if you can. If this is a teaser of what is to become of this extremely talented trio and the horn section, then we are all in for a real treat when they get it together and record the full length. Keep you ears and eyes out for more free downloads from the good folks over at ATA Records. Flying under the radar once again with this gem, stay tuned for more great music from this great label. Listen to the track and download it for free as well. What are you waiting for? Just do it!
