Sad news today as I just got in here at Flea Market Funk headquarters. I’m sad to report that the mighty Gil Scott-Heron has passed today. There are no further details at this time, but as soon as I hear more, I will let you all know. Until then, check out a piece I did with Gil and the great Brian Jackson here, and a fantastic cover of “The Bottle” by Brother to Brother here. Rest in Power to one of the greats of New York City and the world. Keep Diggin’!
“Home is Where the Hatred Is”
Tragic…… i got to see him at Blues Alley in Dc not too awful long ago. He signed my copy of I’m New Here in the streets of Georgetown during set break. It was a great show, and luckily i was able to snap a few good pics
if you’d like to share them here, i’d love to share with the FMF readers. cheers-
Sad.
