It looks like FMF’s favorite new rapper/ chef has been busy. It’s no secret that I’m rockin’ Dr. Lechter a lot. It’s my go to subway record in my headphones. This guy is gonna be big, or shall I say bigger? With tight production, a smooth flow and fresh rhymes that matter, we’re hopeing to see Uncle Action in the spotlight in 2012. In fact, we’re kinda counting on it. He’s showing up everywhere: Beef Expos in Brooklyn, the latest Asher Roth and Chuck Inglish video , and apparently in the studio with fellow New Yorker Statik Selektah. Their joint album aptly entitled Well Done will be out November 22nd. On this silky track which features NYC duo Nina Sky (once again Queens is in the house), Bronson waxes poetic and snaps with lines like: “This is Bam Bam Biggelo/Queens to Asbury Park connect Fiagaro” (you know I’m down with the AP reference and the fact I lived next to Bam Bam brother’s pizza joint is a bonus), “The Leslie Neilson of the weed and the word/ This is Action Bronsolini 33 and a third kid”. Still referencing sports figures (Phil Rizzuto, Ricky Henderson, Derek Harper and “Rocket” Roger Clemens), the boom, Queens, Outdoorsman style and plenty of food, his raps never grow tired. Happy to be compared to Ghostface (and the duo got together on the single “Meteor Hammer” from the Wu Legends Lp) he cites Kool G. rap as a rapper he looks up to. Statik Selektah has laced “Cocoa Butter” with a smooth beat and some horns, while Nina Skye run the hook like Mark Jackson ran the Knick fast break. As I said before, he’s a guy I’d not only like to spin some records with but cook a meal in my kitchen. Hell, I’ll take him on my basketball team anytime, two words: low post. Bronsolini: show me some cooking tips and I’ll provide the ill soundtrack. More to come from Action Bronson in late November. Check out the preview of “Cocoa Butter” below.
