When The Budos Band put out a record, it’s always balls out. Their sound is recognizable immediately: African influenced horns with heavy drums that blow up every dance floor the record is played on. Their first single, “The Sticks” from the upcoming Burnt Offering on Daptone Records (available October 21st) is about to blow your mind. Charging hard directly out of the gate, there is a very strong Psychedelic feeling to this tune. Massive organ and fuzzy guitars combine with their signature horns to produce on hell of a funky track. Maybe they were hanging out with Edan over at the Daptone Studios digging through some of his crates. Maybe they are maturing, or a combination of both. This track combines the best of both worlds, a meeting of Afro-Funk and Psych sounds, funky, fuzzy, and a new direction for the ban. With the Hair of the Dog inspired artwork, we can not wait to hear the rest of what’s on this album. Start your weekend out right and play this new track by The Budos Band LOUD!
