Akalepse – Some Things I Never Said

Lepse CoverFile this under something we slept on, and man are we glad we got the reminder from Akalepse via email on this one. Apparently, we aren’t the only one to sleep either, so I don’t feel that bad. Some Things I Never Said is a beat tape and unreleased demos from the ’90’s to the mid ’00’s. Akalepse, the name synonymous with Truth & Soul Records and good music all around, has some ureleased collabos with Vinia Mojica, Tiombe Lockhart, C Rayz Walz, Hosanna Littlebird, and Renee Neufville among various banger beats and movie samples.

This is a good vibe to be on. Sort of reminds me of the vibe from the first Express Rising, slow burning, soul samples over some finely crafted beats. Something you can just toss on, listen to in the whip or when you’re cooking, maybe even throw it on with your lady. Perfect backgound music from a real talented cat. In fact, if you’re in Chicago this weekend, he will be selling this exclusively on limited edition cassette. More details on the event here. For those of you that can’t get to Chicago on Friday, you can grab it below in digital form. This is just what you need to get you through the weekend.
