We collect records for different reasons. The warm, analog sound is one of them, but let’s not forget the cover, the liner notes, and the feel of vinyl. If you’re like us here at FleaMarket Funk, you also dig the design aesthetic as well. We love the fonts, the graphic design, and the stickers that pop up on record sleeves. I mean, our latest sticker BUY MORE VINYL gave a nod to such stickers. We are not the only ones though, as our favorite graphic designer/ record head/ vinyl nerd Darrell Krum aka Mr. Krum does as well. His latest project, which he’s been giving us sneak peeks at through social media all week has finally come to light. He’s done a collabo with UK hip hop store Rarekind Records and give us an exclusive tee shirt and sticker pack. It’s a subtle flip of those “Records Are Still Your Best Entertainment Value” sticker designs that were found on U.S. records in the 1960’s and 1970’s. We think it’s absolutely the dog’s nuts, and if you love records as much as we do, this is a must have. The slogan doesn’t lie, and as always, Mr. Krum comes correct with his design once again.
