Thee Lakesiders – Si Me Falteras Tu b/w Parachutes

The train keeps on rolling for Big Crown Records, as they add more fuel to the fire with yet another record that will blow minds and keep ears happy. A 45 RPM release on the label that just keeps going, and this time it’s from the Left Coast, specifically Los Angeles. Thee Lakersiders are a duo that feature Marie and Necalli, who backed are by The Shacks and, under the tutelage of the great El Michels, got into the Diamond Mine Studio and churned out these two killer sides. The A, “Si Me Falteras Tu”, runs the gamut of low rider oldie meets Latin psychedelic soul. If it sounds familiar to you, that’s because it covers the 1973 tune by Los Terricolas. This is a great introduction to Thee Lakesiders sound. It’s a family affair at Big Crown, so it also has that quality polished product we have all grown to love over the years. The flip, a dreamy ballad from the first note, “Parachutes” hangs right up there with the best of them. This late night side is an oldie through and through, with more Suavecito than most, giving it that extra firme for you to keep dropping the needle again. We must admit, both sides are impressive, but this slow roller is what we keep returning to. We can only hope that a full length is in the works, because these two sides hit the spot in a big way. Another bucket from behind the three point line for Big Crown. An LA to NYC connection we all can enjoy. Stream the record below and pre-order after the link:
