We’re always about staying ahead of the curve and bring you artists who we think are always on the cutting edge of this music game. One such band is Kind & Kinky Zoo. Hailing from Lausanne, Switzerland and made up of Sylvain Rütti (drums), Adrien Knecht (bass), Marc Siegenthaler (Keys), and Olivier Bill (flute), they’ve come out of their winter hibernation in the Alps with two tracks that are both interesting and funky in their own way. This time, the record is released on the East Coast power house Boogieburg. They have been releasing a great array of different seven over the last few years, and this is just another unique arrow to the quiver. “Seven Noisettes” is an organic and free, raw funk rock fusion jam that rides hard on the fuzz, plus a hearty dose of flute, which if you have not gotten down with in your music, you’re missing out in a big way. This is music that you can take anywhere with you, but let us warn you, watch that neck because it causes maximum neck snapping. It’s a groove that makes you move with a special Swiss touch. The flip, “Poulpe Fiction”, the more upbeat of the two, wastes no time jumping right into a howling groove that seriously feels like an early ’70’s prog jazz jam that could go on forever and we’d all be fine with it. This band should be on your radar, and thanks to Boogieburg, their new single is. The artwork, which pulls the listener’s eyes right back into some Squiddly Diddly/ Secret Squirrel shizz is a perfect accompaniment to the music. This is exactly what Hanna Barbera would have behind some of these classic toons. We’re all in on this one, and you should be too.
