We always say that it’s all about the vibe here at Flea Market Funk, and the lastest heat from Kind and Kinky Zoo is just that. Vibes for days and days on their new forty five. “Sakura Chan” has everything we love about a funky seven. It’s got the back beat that will keep the party going to the early morning. It’s got some flute that just goes on and on, gets in your soul and keeps moving you. It’s got keys that are so warm it’s like you’re taking a bath after a long day. It just feels good. It’s a track that Harold Alexander would hear and give his nod of approval. “Mama Soul” vibes for sure. Another song of the summer! That is for certain. The flip, “Seabass” kicks some ass. Heavy on the fuzzy vibes with some freaked out organ and there is that flute again. The flute is mesmerizing, with an almost psychy, Middle Eastern vibe, Kind and Kinky Zoo takes you on a funky trip around the globe. It’s the kind of song that we’re sure when they do live they stretch it out and let the players take a stroll and such. This track is a bit darker, but no less funky. You get your money’s worth with this forty five. From Lausanne, Switzerland to a turntable close to your ears, these two sides are jams. If you have any doubt, please stream and have your head explode (not for real, but in your mind).
Pre-order the record, out on Funk Night on June 21st here.
