Funk and Soul music transcends boundaries and borders. Take for instance Dobromir Marzov aka Soulmate out of Bulgaria. He has a Funk and Soul show called Funky Bites that brings the good people of Bulgaria this great music, past and present. This guy is a great example of someone keeping this music alive. Bulgaria? Yes folks Bulgaria. Just another corner of this world where Funk and Soul are thriving, and people like Dob are the one’s championing the movement.
Here is what Dob had to say about his show:
“The show is about the Funk, the Soul and the Jazz. It is on air every Saturday from 20:00 to 23:00 Bulgarian time (this is Eastern European time). It’s on Radio Varna which is part of the Bulgarian National Radio I present new funk albums, the funk and soul legends from the 60’s and the 70’s, new funky singles, I play live concerts, I play mixes of DJ’s from all over the world. Often I have guests in the studio too – musicians, DJ’s, MC’s…This is the show in general. I love the Funk and I’m so glad that I can play it in the National Radio.”
