Long time Asbury Park 45 Session Crew member Lou aka DJ Bluewater has always had deep, deep crates. His Funk and Soul game is always on point, and when he told me a while ago he wanted to get into digging for Jazz and Reggae 45’s, I knew he wasn’t playing around. He always keeps me abreast of his new projects, and today he slid this one into my Inbox. This is just some of the stuff he’s digging up as of late, and it looks like I need to go digging with him, because Reggae, or should I say GOOD Reggae has been hard to find in these parts for a minute. Like I said earlier, Bluewater is a top notch guy, a terrific DJ, and has his own all 45 night in the Lower East Side of Manhattan on Mondays at Fat Buddah (212 Aveune A). It’s a welcome respite from the Hot 97 bangers you often hear up in the clerb, and it’s all original 45’s. Besides the music, it’s during Happy Hour, so go there to get your fix.***
You just may see one of the Asbury Park 45 Session D’s doing a guest spot. For now, enjoy some Reggae 7’s from everyone’s favorite selector: DJ Bluewater.
