FMF: 1 Million Hits and Still Diggin’….

1 million hits and still digging…..

If you would have said four years ago that I would have one million hits on a blog about record digging, I might have been doubtful. I’ve always dug for and collected records because music was such a personal thing to me. My father taught me many things, but it was his love of music (among other good qualities) that has help pave the way in my life. I’m fortunate enough that for the last 15+ years I have been able to DJ, dig for records and share my love of this music. I have never claimed to be an expert, just a guy who loves Funk, Soul, Jazz and Reggae (Golden Age Hip Hop too) and found my forum to rant about it on the internet. I’m very grateful for the people that come to Flea Market Funk to read what I’ve written about these records I dig up. I’m also very grateful for the people who come to see me DJ. So today, April 13, 2011, FMF jumped over the million hits mark, and you know what, it feels pretty damn good. I want to say thanks to all who I have ever DJed with, and who have supported me since day one. Big Shout out to Larry over at Funky 16 Corners for showing me love and inspiring me to get this thing going proper when I did. Another shout out to my dudes from the Asbury Park 45 Sessions, who will be celebrating 4 years strong in AP this year. We will have another session no doubt. Last but not least, a shout out to all these artists from the past, who we spend so many hours digging for. If it wasn’t for all of these hard working musicians to inspire us to “dig deeper”, I’d have no Flea market Funk at all. There’s more records to find, so Keep Diggin’!

  1. Fantastic. A million cogratulations on a great blog that shares your passion for the music way beyond the people lucky enough to hear your DJ sets in person. Here in the UK, your willingness to share your digging finds continues to inspire me to keep digging as well.

  2. Cheers, Pres! FMF inspired so many people through these four years. I’m happy enough to say, that one of them is me. Thank you!
