The Triple B Project: Brighton to Boston to Brooklyn

A short while ago I brought you DJ Format in my Big Ups series while also talking about his newly released record Statement of Intent and the “Spaceship Earth” unofficial video as well. This record is for sure a welcomed breath of fresh air among today’s otherwise stuffy Hip Hop releases. If Format’s music wasn’t good enough, he has hooked up with Slice-of-Spice guru Spice to release some really cool vinyl items. The Triple B Project, as it has been dubbed (DJ Format is from Brighton, Edan and Mr. Lif from Boston, and Spice from Brooklyn) will be releasing a 10″ double sider and a promo playable postcard. That’s right people, I said a postcard. The double A side 10″ will be DJ Format featuring Edan “Spaceship Earth” and DJ Format featuring Mr. Lif “Terror”, both complete with “cover art on both sides and top loading to give it a real retro feel.” There will be a special edition of 250 pieces of clear vinyl with black swirl, plus silver foil numbered stamp. Those who support this special release will receive the playing postcard, Sureshot La Rock “Remember (Beatbox Remix)”.

Always innovating, always with not just the Hip Hop afficianado in mind, but the specialty vinyl collector as well, SOS is releasing this on April 23rd. If you really want to have the rareness, order the “Collectors Pack” (limited to only 10 sets), that includes both versions of the 10”, the postcard, the LP, the first 12” off the LP (“Mr. DJ”), plus a specially hand ink stamped test pressings (and numbered) of both the LP, and the 10”. This is something that will not last long. The snippet of the audio was leaked as well as some images a few days ago and the people were talking. These limited edition releases will not be around for long. Support good artists, great labels, and most of all real deal music. Support this kind of music today.

  1. For those that want just the regular flat black plastic, you can already pre-order from Fat Beats here: http://www.fatbeats.com/collections/store/products/dj-format-ft-edan-mr-lif-spaceship-earth-b-w-terror-10

You’ll also be able to order from UGHH and Dusty Groove in the coming days, and pick it up in-store at Big City and Academy LPs in April. Everyone outside of the US can also order in coming weeks from the likes of HHV.de, Disk Union, Vinylism, Jet Set Records, King Underground, and more.

    THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
