We all dig for records. Record stores dig as well, but they also buy collections. Some, like the TV show Auction Hunters acquire storage units full of stuff, just to get records. UHF’s Jeff Bubeck in Royal Oak was conducting business as usual. In a storage unit he discovered something a bit different. The Detroit area record owner unearthed thousands of records that belonged to the late legendary producer Dilla. He also found cassettes labeled “Jay Dee Beats”, song lyrics, and mail personally addressed to James Yauncey. What do you do with all this stuff?
Well, sell it of course. The first bit went out for sale this past Record Store Day. Apparently he is trying to give some of the proceeds back to The Dilla Foundation, but has been unsuccessful in setting that up so far. If anyone from the Foundation is reading this, ie. Ma Dukes, get in contact with Mr. Bubeck. He’s trying to help. Here’s his info:

For all you Dilla heads that want to own a piece of your favorite super producer’s history, get that wax before it’s gone. The G.O.A.T. still lives on, even through his lost (or found) record collection. Keep Diggin’!
