Here’s what we want to get in our inbox over the weekend, a new mix from one of Buffalo, NY’s baddest DJs, DJ Culter. Cutler has been ripping it up for a mnute. Whether all 45s, or just plain funky ass tracks, Cutler is the go to guy. Haven’t heard of him? You can get to know him a bit better in his Big Ups interview. In this second installment of Newer Sounds for Older Souls, Cutler visits some unsigned hype in EMEFE and blends in some stalwarts like Chico Mann, Antibalas, New Mastersounds, J Rocc, DJ Format, The Bamboos, and Ikbe Shakedown with some great new tracks from Freqnik & WDRE and more. Cutler is a DJ after my own heart, and if you haven’t got a chance to check out some of his work, here’s a perfect example of how he does (and how it should be done!). Be prepared for heavy drums, and big drum breaks, plus a tall order of scratching and working doubles. Now go get it!
