Starting in October, Flea Market Funk will be teaming up with Sycamore in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn for a night of Funk and Soul vinyl. The most diverse neighborhood in Kings County is home to one of the most unique music spaces to pop up. Part bar, part flower shop and all parts awesome, Sycamore hosts some great artists and DJs, including Monk-One and Eric from NYC Trust and Slim Hug among others who have all been holding down all vinyl nights at the venue. Starting October 11th, and every second Friday of each month, Flea Market Funk will host a night of funky forty fives. Running the gamut from deep Funk, raw Soul, and real Reggae, expect a sprinkling of Jazz and Latin 7″s to be thrown in as well. We’ll see how it goes, but hopefully we will be able to get a few guest selectors in this intimate space. Sycamore is the only space in its area to host DJs, and they’ve made the decision to keep it all organic and analog with DJs spinning vinyl. The previous gigs I’ve done there have been really great, so I expect more good vibes as this new night gets under way. More info as it comes in.
