Kiddie Funk Mix on 45 from The Ambassador

A while back, The Ambassador, aka Allen Thayer (Wax Poetics, Soul Spectrum and vinyl record scientist) and I spoke on a child friendly dual mix we were going to work on, because Wu Tang isn’t the only one for the children. Kids get exposed to a lot of stuff these days, and most time it’s not good. If I hear one more kid shouting “All I do is win!” one more time as I pick up my son from school, I’m gonna scream. These youngsters need to learn. My kids listen to what ever I do, so whether it’s Nat Adderley or Demon Fuzz, they get exposed to something different every day. I pepper in the out there Jazz with Beatles, sweet Soul, Funk, and rated G Hip Hop. My youngest is a huge fan of Cal Tjader, so if it’s Soul Sauce or Solar Heat, the kid is doing the worm all over the place. I need to get some drums, because he has some rhythm as well. Any way, I got a bit busy to do this idea, but The Ambassador came through with the goods. He put together an all original (unless noted) funky fresh 45 mix just under 40 minutes spliced in with The Count counting from Sesame Street. Perfect to keep your kids moving and grooving. So the next time they reach for Lady Gaga, throw this puppy on and see what they do. I bet you they dig it. This is definitely not just for kids.
