Here’s a tune to get your weekend started off right. Johannes Passion is a vocalist/ rapper from Uppsala, Sweden. He’s just released this funky side produced by Fred Saboonchi. “Jailtime” in his own words, is “about me feeling trapped in a evil circle. It’s about loneliness and me trying to break free or “break out”. The lyrics are pretty deep the song has an uplifting vibe to it.” We’re not going to disagree with Mr. Passion. It’s got a bit of that New Jack Swing feeling to it, that R & B sound with some eighties Funk as well. Truth be told, it could fit into a House Party movie and no one would be the wiser, they would think it was made back then. “Jailtime” is catchy, and this sound is right along side releases on Cherries Records and these other eighties type revival tunes. Genuine, with a message that people can relate to, Passion takes an other wise depressing feeling and uplifts it with some music you can move to. This one is on repeat for sure in the Flea Market Funk offices. Something a little different for your Friday, but FMF approved for sure.
