If you were ever wondering what the sound of New Orleans was, DJ Personify has you covered. Part of the Little Big Things crew, he’s just put out a banger of a mix for the #wearebagpeople aka “good folks” over at Tucker & Bloom that is everything New Orleans funk & soul. Hailing from the Crescent City himself, Personify has been at it with the Nawlins music ever since he discovered these samples in his beloved hip hop music (of which he is a hardcore fan of). All artists used on this mix are from The Big Easy with the exception of Hugo Montenegro (who plays alongside Sugar Lips Al Hirt) and the Headhunters because of their work with long time New Orleanian Bill Summers and are on vinyl. Just how we like it here at Flea Market Funk. Read more about the mix here. For now, sit back and enjoy this special mix.

Great mix but I was curious… Headhunters?
Because of the work they did with Bill Summers from New Orleans is what they are saying. Great mix all the way through!
