Most everyone’s favorite rapper, the man behind the mask, DOOM, gets the remix treatment from Cleveland duo the Daze and Twizz. We have all heard a good amount of remixes of DOOM, but these two add their special blend of spacey beats to four DOOM acapella tracks. The result? Four new creations that would make any DOOM fan proud. “Air Doom” is flange crazy on some helium, Twilight Zone ish, while, the Daze remiz of “Vomitspit” is re-imagined if the mask rapped over bachelor pad, space aged drums. The Herbaliser’s “It Ain’t Nutthin’ ” is a broken beat trip with tinty drums that knock. “Gazill” rounds off the Ep and keeps you float in along like Spiritualized. All in all, a great effort and a respectful nod to one of the greatest. Press repeat on this project.
