“Then I felt just like a fiend/ It wasn’t even close to Halloween….” Fortunately, for you, the listener and reader, it is close to Halloween. Get On Down has a special treat for you this year. In honor of All Hallow’s Eve, they have reissued on seven inch for the first time, The Arsonists “The Session” b/w “Halloween”. Originally released in 1996 on Bobbito’s Fondle ‘Em Records” on a 12″, this crew record stood out in a crowd and is one of the foundations for the indie hip hop movement that started in the 90’s. This NYC crew got a lot of spins on the Stretch and Bobbito show, airplay that made way for its jazzy basslines and lyrics that showcased what was missing so much at the time it dropped: originality. The flip is the track “Halloween”, and it’s pressed up on a pumpkin orange 45. Fitting for the season, but a timeless classic of a record. With pre-orders well under way, this thing starts shipping today. Get your copy of this limited edition seven of this classic indie record before they are all gone. You know the deal with Get On Down, they don’t muck about and they put out a quality product. This is a welcome addition to any one’s record collection, even if this classic banger was never on your radar. Check out the original 12″ below.
