Grace Love & The True Loves – Fire

GL&TTLUnexpectedly, a preview of this release from Grace Love & The True Loves came to us here at Flea Market Funk. Immediately, I scrambled to get a copy, but we will all have to wait until March until this powerhouse of a 45 is officially released. For now, we settle for Grace Love’s moving vocals, backed by The True Loves. Based out of Tacoma, WA by way of Memphis, TN, Love perfected her vocal sound that includes gospel and the blues mixed in. She’s sung at the Apollo in NYC, and has had success with her previous project with The Haters. Listen closely as you will hear Etta, Sugar Pie, and some other greats in her voice. However, she’s got her own thang and this seven inch describes her style perfectly: fire. She does have that fire and this floor stomping, dance floor filler is a blues filled soul side that can not be denied. Recorded straight to tape at Litho Studios in Seattle, it’s got that gritty, dirty soul feel to it that opens ears and eyes. We have a feeling that Ms. Grace Love is going to be making waves in 2015. Set to be released by We Coast Records, this 45 is going to be on heavy rotation here at FMF and in the Greenville Studios. Enjoy this preview, and while you’re at it, mark your calendars for this great release. You don’t want to miss this one. A record like this only comes around once in a great while.

Keep Diggin’!
