Sabrosa y Caliente: An All Latin Mix

Sabrosa Y Caliente Mix CoverIt’s been a long time coming here, and we’ve finally put together an all Latin set for your listening pleasure. Sabrosa y Caliente is a 100% original vinyl mix of some of our favorite Latin sides cultivated from the Flea Market Funk crates. Some of these sides have been sitting in waiting for a decade or so until we decided to pull them out, play them out, and finally make a mix out of them. We just didn’t want to make any old mix, but include a mix of records that we play out in our sets as well as some sides we slap on the turntable n the lab. While we’re no expert on Latin music, we definitely dig some boogaloo, salsa, and assorted Latin tracks whether they are funky or soulful. The mix has 16 tracks from record labels such as TICO, GEMA, Cotique, Fania, and more. It also contains an intro from the legendary Ray Barretto, who gives his opinion on the state of Latin music and why he just plays jazz these days. Done all live and in one take, come feel the Latin vibes with this mix. They do not make music like this anymore for sure. Please enjoy, and stay tuned for volume two coming your way sooner than later!
