Along with vinyl records, we dig good design here at FleaMarket Funk. No one embodies both things we love than Minnesota graphic designer Mike Davis. The talented designer, who DJs under the moniker Mike2600, has been putting out great music and superb design for more than a decade. He has been doing clean projects for everyone from Patton Oswald to Scion to MF DOOM to COMPLEX and more. A member of the applauded Burlesque of North America design collective, his work can be seen here. His latest project, Been Busy, is a Kickstarter campaign to produce a 100+ page book of his work. The book includes concert posters created for DaM-Funk, Diplo, Arcade Fire, and Chromeo among others. It also includes a bevy of food illustrations, rough sketches that have never been seen before, vector illustrations made just for the book, and other assorted designs. Spanning Davis’ whole career, the book takes a look at his creative acumen and wide variety of designs he’s produced during it. We are thrilled that he finally is making this book. You will be too. Here are more details:
• 104 pages thick
• 7 x 7″
• Full color printing on 100# matte paper
• Hardcover with full color matte-laminated case wrap
• Smyth sewn binding
• Foreword by Emmy Award-winning comedy writer Steven Davis
There are some great premiums depending on the level of backing in this campaign, so if you love graphic design as much as we do, help a really great artist produce a book spanning his entire career of graphic design. Printed and bound by Minnesota’s own Hillcrest Group, Mike’s keeping it close to home for this effort. We wouldn’t expect anything less.
