The hits just keep on rolling for Boston based record label Get On Down, as their latest offering gives us two releases that elicit good feelings and good vibrations as soon as the needle hits the first groove. The Special Ed Youngest In Charge vinyl bundle is a reissue of the classic Profile Lp with an extra special bonus: a color 45 of one of the most memorable hip hop classics, Ed’s “I Got It Made”. Recorded with fellow Brooklyn beat bomber Hitman Howie Tee, the 16 year old went on to make history and blew up the spot with his debut. Featuring bonafide bangers “I Got It Made” and “Think About It”, the Lp also contained deep cuts like “Taxing”, “Fly MC”, and “I’m The Magnificent” (later released as a single in 1990). As a bonus to the Gatefold Lp, the color 45 contains the original version of “I Got It Made” and the Businesslike Version produced by Howie Tee as well. This originally appeared on the 12″ when it first came out. Now you can get both versions on a nifty seven inch. The record is housed in custom Profile 45 jacket, something you won’t see too often. Another special release from the folks at Get On Down, and another hip hop 45 to go into your collection alongside the likes of Raekwon, M.O.P., Mobb Deep, Common, Cypress Hill, J5, and others. Now you just have to get that jukebox for your crib. But that’s the easy part. Grab this record before they are jacked up on auction sites, because you know that’s inevitable.
