Chris Read’s Mr. Bongo Brazilian Mix

Chris Read Bongo CoverFor those regular readers of this site, you have seen us big up Mr. Bongo and his wildly successful Brazil series of classic and hard to obtain forty five records. Well, imagine our surprise when he got heavyweight DJ, digger, and all around vinyl champ Chris Read (BBE) to put together a special mix for him and The Vinyl Factory. The mix itself is 30 minutes plus of Chris’s favorite heavy Brazilian samba, funk, bossa, soul, and boogie hand picked series by the lads at Mr. Bongo that were put on 7″. If you’re not familiar, Mr. Bongo put together this series with this philosphy in mind: A seven inch of two rare and highly sought after sides that have were previously unreleased as singles or only available on Lps (and weren’t the best audio quality). Hoping to give a burst to these unearthered gems, who are unknown by the layman (if you’re a Brazilian music expert, we are not doubting your knowledge), we here at FMF support the efforts Mr. Bongo goes through to get this beautiful series to the masses. Check out the tracklist below and listen to Chris Read work his magic.
