For the second time in our experience with the label (and their fourth release) Choi Records come correct with another 45 banger, this time from Melbourne, Australia outfit Mayfield. “On The Ropes”, a two sided punch to the solar plexus is spearheaded by the vocal version with Carla Troiano’s vocals shot out of a cannon and this upbeat, JB’s inspired track guaranteed to get you off of your feet. Reminiscent of the late ’60’s/ early ’70’s funk style we have all grown to love, Mayfield blast this seven inch out of orbit on this one. The flip is the instrumental of the track, which will get the B Boys in your life excited and moving from the first needle drop. We have gotten excited about future Choi releases, especially after the last 45 by Fulton Street that has been packing dance floors worldwide. It was a  delight, and this new forty five shows a lot of promise that the dancers will love it too. The last seven inch sold out very quickly, so if you were lucky enough to get one of those, this one is in the same lane. Upbeat and bold, “On The Ropes” is a definite sure shot in your record box.
