Today’s feature comes courtesy of Hope Street Recordings out of Australia and The Meltdown with their first single off of the forthcoming LP Colours Of The Sky out in 2017, which btw, is their first release on the label. Whether getting the dance floor bumping with their brand of high tempo soul, throwing in some dirty blues, or keeping it on the down tempo soul tip like this track, The Meltdown channel Muscle Shoals and a kind of Southern gospel/ soul vibe on this new single. Lead singer Simon Burke also weaves into country soul territory with this side, his voice smooth, calming, and reassuring, as he delivers his message about things getting better, eventually. We all could use some of that these days. Taking some time to raise a family, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life seems to have done Burke a world of good, as this sweet song above the organ, horns, and Southern vibe that propels this beautiful ballad. Linking up with saxophonist Lachlan McLean, The Meltdown absolutely slay it on this freshman output. Hope Street Recordings have corralled some of the best musicians down under and continue to release some of the best music that you may not have heard of. Although you may have heard this track, as it was featured on Fox’s Rosewood television series, but if you haven’t, embrace the twang of the country soul super nice vibe of The Meltdown. You won’t be sorry.
