Cosmic Thrill: Aeon Seven + DJ Suspect

cosmic-thrill-coverWe are always enthusiastic about mixes here at Flea Market Funk, and when something of this caliber comes along, well it is definitely something special.  The Cosmic Thrill project came about after a meeting of two notable DJs and producers, Aeon Seven and DJ Suspect met.  Through their shared love of music, seven inch records, and mind set on dee jaying, these two diggers spent years preparing for this very mix.   File this mix under classics like Brainfreeze and Product Placement  by DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist, the intensity and sheer wherewithal to get this incredible mix together proves that these two are an extremely talented pair.  Combining some classic 45s with a grip of other digger’s delights to boot, this mix was executed perfectly. Funky soul screams, hard hitting drums, chunky bass lines, on point scratching, precise mixing, and proper selection make this mix work again and again.

Not since Brainfreeze, has an all seven inch mix captured the beauty and complexity of our love with the 45 rpm format. School is in for all of you do it yourself hi-fi enthusiasts, and the professors are DJ Suspect and Aeon Seven.

File this mix under classics like Brainfreeze and Product Placement by DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist, as well as those tasty seven mixes by guys like Mr. Thing!, DJ Nu-Mark, and others. This duo has worked not just a few days, but years to perfect this mix to get it where it is for your ears right now. Here’s another thing: the two are joining forces to bring this show live on the road, so let’s hope it makes it over here to the States.
