It’s been a minute since we have heard from F-Spot Records, the Los Angeles, CA based record label who makes music the way they want to: funky and funky. Their newest seven inch will tick all the boxes for those who love that funky jazz with a dash of extra flavors. With hints of soul jazz, afro beat and other worldly influences, The Bombillas drop an under the radar funky forty five for your little record boxes. With plenty horn and organ, the the A side of this nugget chugs along making aural stops in Turkey, The Middle East, and Africa. It’s snake charmer soul jazz with a punch from across the globe. The flip, “Kings Up” is the more upbeat of the two. Lead by some sweet saxophone and organ, the track goes into full swing with horns and percussion and leads us into a soulful journey indeed. Formed in 2014, F-Spot Records had one philosophy: “Our goal is simple, press some vinyl for bands, get those records out to the people who want to enjoy them, and to have a good time doing what we love.” They have achieved it and more.
