When we lost Sharon Jones, we lost the matriarch of modern soul. Her death from pancreatic cancer (and by the way, fuck cancer) shook the soul world, and the hardest working woman in show biz, who captured our hearts with her energy, stage presence, with that voice, left a legacy and mark on our world forever. But what we didn’t know, that she had been working on a record, her final studio album, Soul Of A Woman. In the time up until her last days, she toured tirelessly, recorded this record, and despite her illness, remained one of the best, if not the best performer in the world. The new record will be released on November 17th on Daptone Records and if it’s anything like the first single, “Matter Of Time”, it is destined to e another classic.
