Feeling This Friday: Khruangbin

Going to try to do this once in a while here on Flea Market Funk. we’d like to highlight some music we have been feeling, whether in the studio, in the car to gigs, or in the headphones. A band that we were a little late to the party to but really felt what they were laying down was Khruangbin. We started out with their latest Con Todo El Mundo, and moved back accordingly. The record is on repeat, but we wanted to highlight an even older track from The Universe Smiles Upon You from 2015, extended and remixed. It is just top notch in our books. The track, “People Everywhere (Still Alive)”, specifically the Vuelo Dub Remix is a side that we really just can’t get enough of. Both tracks paint a picture of the beach, sunsets, and moving slowly into the night. While the band extends the song to get even deeper in what they do, the Dub remix sees Vuelo going in like a mad professor with extra bass action. It could be a soundtrack cut, it could be a late night dance floor mover, it could be the soundtrack to your life. Whatever the case may be, we are feeling the band and this RSD ’16 record. Have a listen below and feel it too.
