Yo! Med does this, and Med does that, but Med doesn’t rap, rather funks up the track on this new release from My Bags Records called A Quest Called Tribe. Available to the masses March 30th, the French composer, musician, and producer, reeling off of his last highly applauded output Solstice(where he reinterpreted classic soundtrack and library records all by himself playing every instrument), jumps into a free interpretation of one of the legends of the rap game, A Tribe Called Quest. The first single we get from him is his version of the classic “Scenario” dubbed “Le Scénario”. Tastefully done, jazzy, and funky, it’s a superb take on the favorite side that got people hyped all over the world. Ghosts of Oblighetto drums but really the flip of this side is all Medline, who just takes it to another level with a variety of instruments and moods. There are eight tracks total on the full length, which include his reinterpretation of “Electric Relaxation”, “The Hop”, and more. It’s available in a variety of media: vinyl of course, CD, cassette, and also with an exclusive poster (which are always dope in his releases). Once again it’s in a super limited quantity of 300 with the vinyl, so don’t sleep, Medline has been busy once again, so if you dig Tribe, you’ll dig these versions for sure.
