Moving along nicely, as the man always does, we have Jalapeno mainstay Dr. Rubberfunk with another (the third) installment in his My Life At 45 single series. With success from the previous two, he links up with one of our favorite vocalists and gospel specialist Izo Fitzroy for a beautifully done track called “A Matter Of Time”. It’s catchy, and we guarantee that you’ll have the chorus stuck in your head for days. A wonderfully produced track with an early to mid-’70’s gospel soul feel meets Stax on a Sunday morning. Let the sun shine in with this one! “Slim’s Mood” is a funky piece with some jazz guitar and a heavy back beat that would make our man Grant Green and even Boogaloo Joe Jones proud. A sweet nod in their direction, as we hope a track like this will lead some of the new generation to these classic jazz guitar players and their fantastic performances. Dr. Rubberfunk can definitely get it moving with this one; soulful jazz with feeling that is certainly on point. Finishing up, we’ve got more heavy production on the last track on the record, “Moody Drums”. Whether you like Clyde, Sandy, Louie, James, Paul, Tony, or any other top drummer in the funk/ jazz style, there’s no way you can’t appreciate this last little bit of goodness. This whole project is a limited edition of 300, with 50 in heavy poly bags and wraparound sleeves and paper colored inner. So get you butt in gear and grab it if you want to, there will be none left shortly. Stream all three tracks below and cop after the stream.
