Premiere: Magic In Threes – Making Paper

Premiering today on Flea Market Funk is a band that has gotten much shine over the years on the site for their excellent musicianship and originality from start to finish. We’re talking about Nashville, Tennessee’s Magic In Threes. The former GED Soul artist has linked up with the UK’s King Underground for a fantastic vinyl record issue of their 2016 digital Lp 3. Given the deluxe treatment with magenta color vinyl, this SUPER limited release of 150 pieces comes complete with new cover art designed by Bee. Completely remastered using lacquers cut by the legend himself Pete Norman (Led Zeppelin, David Bowie), this one is top-notch whether you’ve been aware of the band or not. Magic In Threes cinematic, funky soul has been impressing DJs/ dancefloors for a while, and it’s great to see the record get a proper vinyl release and in this capacity. These tracks make your head nod for sure, and whether the sounds crosses between library funk, cinema soundtrack, or a straight up funky good time, KIng Underground is definitely bringing this already tight and out of sight band to other levels. It’s moody, funky, and well, you’ll just have to hear for yourself. “Making Paper” is another heady but breezy walk through the park with those headphones on, post smoke of something that lifts you to another plane. Magic In Threes are back for the world to hear, and we’re happy for that. We’ve always felt that this band was bubbling just at the surface waiting to stick their head out to be seen and heard. 2020 is the time and King Underground is the place. Listen to the track below and order the record from KU below. 2020 is shaping up to be a really funky year.

Pre-order the record here available via King Underground on February 14.
