Fast rapper Andy Cooper is back with a new record and a new video for the title track “L.I.S.T.E.N.”. Lyrical Innovation Supplying The Ear’s Need from what we hear so far is a continuation of one of the world’s fastest rappers laying it down like he has been doing for quite some time. The third single from his third Lp is one we have been enjoying as of late. More high energy rap, playful and filled with nostalgia references throughout spit over a nasty guitar laden beat, “Listen” keeps confirming what we have said all along, that Cooper is an innovative and talented rapper that continues to do things his own way and do it well. He’s able to take the fast rap and build bridges lyrically and sonically for the listener to a consistent head nod. While a lot of other rappers would have you scratching your head, Cooper encourages you to follow (keep up if you can) and proceeds to slay on all fronts. We’re also privy to two other preview tracks here from the record. “The Man”, featuring DJ Moneyshot and “Heart” (produced by DJ Young Einstien). Fast, but not as fast as the previous, Cooper breaks it down over a soulful and psychy beat that is another great sample of what’s to come on these records. Great lyrics and great beats throughout, this one is another winner from your favorite rapper who also has a puppet too. Check out the video for “L.I.S.T.E.N.” below. Directed by Daniel Ruzcko, it’s a nod to the 1970s and 1980s Children Broadcast television series that are burned in so many of our minds. More innovative stuff.
