Georgia Anne Muldrow: Mufaro’s Garden

This one is for all the heads out there who love their beats dirty and hard; those who can appreciate a finely crafted track and like to nod their heads, take a look over and just smile. It’s a stone cold groove today and GAM aka Georgia Anne Muldrow is the captain of this ship. Hitting number three in her VWETO series (III) the Grammy nominated and multitalented producer, musician, songwriter and beatmaker lays down a trip that you need to jump on.

VWETO III is intended for movement. It’s to be played when you birth yourself back outside after a long introspective period to get the things you need. It intends for you to be your own superhero and wants to be your theme for power.

Georgia Anne Muldrow

Taking much of the duties on this long player, Muldrow composed, performed, recorded, arranged, produced, mixed and mastered this entire record. This instrumental journey, inspired by artists like Isaac Hayes and others sees Muldrow push the envelope on genres like funk, jazz, boom bap hip hop, soul, Afrofuturism, and more. Mostly instrumental, there are some moments of vocal bliss courtesy of singer Shana Jensen and rapper Ayun Basa, who lend their on point talents to this future classic. The first sample of the record we get is “Mufaro’s Garden”, a track inspired by a folktale book called Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters. This is the first of four singles, released that GAM has made a Call To Action for people around the globe to collaborate on each of these singles. There will also be an online NFT auction for the LP and its artwork which ends on May 21. For now, strap on your headphones and go on a journey through sound, with Georgia Anne Muldrow as your captain, of course.

Pre-order VWETO III, available May 21st.
