For over a decade, the band Orgone and their extended family has been making music. Not just any old kind of music, but the kind of music you can feel: soul music. The type of music that gets you right in the sweet spot. This short documentary entitled “Los Angeles” chronicles behind the scenes and concert footage of Orgone in one of their hometown L.A. Echoplex shows from this past year. It’s filmed by Matt Bardocz, the man behind the Jungle Fire movie and film work with Mercedes Benz among others. You get a real inside look at this veteran band of the festival and soul scene around the world as they prepare and perform. Its members have worked and played with Roots, Al Green, Gil Scott-Heron, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Breakestra, Thievery Corporation, and the Monophonics. Orgone was also the backing band for albums by Alicia Keys and Cee Lo Green, so they have that reputation for being able to get the job done like Big Daddy Kane. Bardocz has done a fine job on this short and we look forward to more from this talented film maker. So get your groove on with the band known as Orgone, one of L.A.’s finest funky soul outfits.
