Breakdown BrassWhat we have here people is a prime example of what we would like to call ‘unfuckablewith’ music. Breakdown Brass, Brooklyn’s own afro-funk with some Balkans brass band music clique is a shining example of what happens when powerhouse musicians come together. Featuring recording and touring members of Antibalas, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Charles Bradley, Lee Fields, Monophonics, Slavic Soul Party & many other, BB showcases some young veterans of Brooklyn’s budding funk and soul scene. Recorded at the famous Dunham Studios (Amy Winehouse, Jay Z, Sharon Jones, and more) by the uber talented Thomas Brennan, “The Horesman” is an explosion of afro funk, Balkan brass, and a tough and powerful sousaphone bass line. You read that right. Powerful sousaphone bass line. All the rappers will be featuring sousaphone after this.
