New Direction In Sound: A Guest Mix for F16 Corners

New Directions In SoundToday, we have something completely different. It’s no surprise that deep funk and soul record collectors branch out into different genres. Whether it’s prog rock, psychedelic, or in this case, garage rock 45s, I’ve seen my share of DJs and collectors open up their ears and dabble in any one of the them. We’ve traveled down that road as well and we like it. It is no secret that FleaMarket Funk digs fuzzy 45s. We’ve put out a few mixes that have included some of these sides. There is something about the fuzz that keeps us close to the funk 45s we also covet. Call these records cousins, call them anything you want, but we will call them good. We have been digging up these 45s for years, sitting on them, and recently been throwing one or two into our live sets. That’s where this mix comes in. Here are 19 fuzzy rock forty five for the whole family. File it under garage and fuzzy guitar rock. Why did we do this? Well, our good compadre Larry Grogan from Funky 16 Corners is in the middle of his yearly pledge drive. He asked us to contribute this mix, and we wanted to go off our usual path with our selection. We had a great time putting it together, you have a great time listening to it.
