New York City! Tomorrow night in the fine borough of Manhattan, the Los Angeles based latin afro funk and soul band Jungle Fire will make their NYC debut at Meridian 23 in support of their red hot LP on Nacional Records,Tropicoso. Flea Market Funk has the distinct pleasure of sharing the stage with the band and Christian Martir from Sociedad Records to spin a blend of latin, funk, soul, african, and brasilian 45s before and after the band’s set. If you remember their two forty fives they released with Colemine Records that we championed on here on FMF, you will definitely want to put on some dancing shoes and move to the rhythms of this break out band from the Left Coast. One of the premier latin DJs and historians in NYC, DJ Christian Martir is the go to guy when a band like this comes to town. His Sociedad Records has been releasing nothing but fire while giving a solid education at the same time. We are honored to share the stage with both of these performers on 7.22.
