Mr. Bongo doesn’t disappoint once again as he digs very deep into his Brazilian stash of vinyl to keep the love flowing on his latest Brazilian series of 45s. We are feeling the heat in our seats this am from this two sided banger. First up is Joao Luiz’s “Super Mulher”. A full on Brazilian psych/ latin mover, the original was released by RCA in 1974 and is a highly sought after piece. Lot’s of percussion, more bongos, fuzzy guitars, and organ will keep the crowd moving until the sun comes up. The double A side is another artist who is known for heat. Toni Tornado. Just hearing the name has collectors and DJs going nuts to get a copy of one of his many heavy drum sides. “Poder Crer Amizade” is one of them. You may know it, perhaps you don’t. This is a side we have been fiending over for here at FleaMarket Funk for years. Break heavy funky soul, Tornado does what he does best: makes funky records. Taken from the hard to come by BR-3 long player, Mr. Bongo has done a great job to get this one to the masses as well.
