This Saturday April 30th, FleaMarket Funk is will be spinning a few all reggae sets with the esteemed Garden State bredren Steady Sound System. Steady Sound System are a group of reggae DJs comprised of Greene Goblin and Judge Knotte a.k.a The Steady Brothers. Starting out as a weekly party in 2002 at The Court Tavern in New Brunswick, NJ by Greene Goblin aka Nuno Rodrigues, drummer of Hub City Stompers, the party had traveled from places like The Trocadero and Knitting Factory and many venues in between. They have shared the stage with King Django, The Slackers, Bombtown, Kevin Batchelor of the Skatalites, Bigger Thomas, Ruder Than You, Inspector 7, Predator Dub assasins, and many more. This Saturday night, FleaMarket Funk will make our debut doing an all 45 reggae set with Steady Sound System at The Green Room in Harrison, NJ.
This should be a fun time. We are bringing a bag fully loaded with ska, rocksteady, dub, roots, and dancehall 45s we have amassed over the years. Along side Green Goblin, Judge Knotte, and Kellvoyant, it looks to be a good time!
