Way back when we knew that this dude, Tall Black Guy was one to watch. Now he’s premiering on Gilles Peterson Worldwide, doing shows with prominent artist and DJs all over the world, and creating banger after banger. His latest effort, “I Will Never Know” on First Word Records, is another notch in his long belt of future classics. This Detroit native currently residing in the UK has been making moves, and with this first single off his upcoming sophomore release Let’s Take A Trip, he shows no signs of slowing down. Featuring the LA soul group Moonchild (who has been championed by the likes of Stevie Wonder, James Poysner, 9th Wonder and Rober Glasper among others), this sultry single gets you from all directions. The on point beats and samples from TBG combined with the vocals of Amber Navran and horns of Moonchild are a one two combination that will have beat heads and diggers alike trying to get their hands on this seven inch. Tall Black Guy has been doing things his way, and getting noticed along the journey. It’s great to see a dude who we knew way back was doing big tings keep doing them across the globe consistently.
